Imagine

Imagine the stars without a sky,
Or the air without birds to fly,
Imagine the earth without trees to dwell,
Or a book without a story to tell,
Imagine being asleep and never having a dream,
Or water not flowing through a beautiful stream,
To think of time that does not pass,
Or eternity that will never last,
If we stopped to see the little things, as we pass along the way,
We will see the truth in this life each and every day,
Our lives are full of beauty, that we can touch, and all can see,
The resting place within our hearts, is where it will always be,
Imagine the awesome presence of love, when we need a special friend,
Or a true and lasting peace, that will never ever end,
All things are possible when faith is in control,
The spirit of truth will guide us in every direction we go,
Lasting treasures in the world, will always be free,
If we put our faith in the, "Great I Am" of all eternity.

I can build you up, give you strength, hope, and pride, Or I can break you down, weaken your will, and tear you up inside, The powerful use me, so they have their way, The humble speak of me, when they are on their knees and pray, Nations have survived and prospered because of my power, Or collapsed and destroyed themselves when I was used to devour, To all who are sick, or troubled, I can bring a smile to their face, Or can bring people to shame, lowliness, and disgrace, Every generation has their own interpretation of me, Some use me as a positive force, Other's a reason to divorce, Used truthfully, I can bring the world positive change, Used falsely, I will split, divide, and estrange, Perhaps you're wondering who I am, a friend or foe? Honestly people use me everyday, and they still don't know, I am the pencil in your hand, the feelings that you speak, The thoughts in your mind, whether vicious, or kind, I am a friend, who is seen or heard, I am the all powerful, Living Word!

We all pass through along the way,
Not many can compare with you,
Being real, and true, you're among the special few,
You're a cut above the rest, the very best,
Many along the way love to talk the talk,
Along the way you just walk the walk,
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow you are the USA,
Our flag flies proudly and we are free because of you,
You're red white and blue through and through,
Protectors of justice and liberty,
Soldiers in uniform with many enemies to face,
A nation of bits and pieces of the entire human race,
Along the way you kiss your family and friends goodbye,
Along the way you protect the land sea and sky,
Along the way peace will flourish in many lands,
Because you are the tools in God's hands,
Words alone could not express our gratitude,
Actions alone could never show our appreciation,
You're an inspiration to a thankful and grateful nation,
This humble prayer we give to you with love,
Keep it close to your heart as you journey,
Along The Way.

My hope is that anyone who reads one of my poems will be touched in a positive way.
