 Tears & Fears

Most of the United States will sit down and enjoy the abundance this Great Country on Thanksgiving day.
But let us not forget those among us who go hungry everyday, and those who are still suffering
from the effects of Katrina. This poem is in their honor. Anthony

I see your faces full of fear,
I see your eyes so filled with tears,
I see your sadness, your grief and pain,
Your lives destroyed by the wind and rain,
Mother Nature dealt a heavy blow,
The levees failed and the water rose,
No where to run or to hide,
A city in ruins many have died,
The shock of uncertainty and disbelief,
Hunger and thirst with no relief,
The heat takes it toll and all we can see,
Are your tears and fears across the T.V,
Many heroes rush in from the sky,
Saving many people who are trapped inside,
Feeling helpless, there is nothing we can do,
But to pray to God that they will rescue you,
Tens of thousands with nowhere to go,
Trapped in this city where the water flowed,
Days pass with no relief in sight,
No food or drink for days and nights,
Eyes filled with tears, faces express such fear,
Destruction and devastation is everywhere,
This is no dream; horror is before our eyes,
Hunger, thirst, pain and cries!
The life of a city has been drowned by the water,
A frantic father searches for his daughter,
Frightened children cling to their mothers,
Sisters forever separated from their brothers,
So many lives destroyed, hundreds are lost,
A human tragedy a tremendous cost,
After many days help finally arrives,
Many good loving people rush in to save lives!
Five days of living hell that felt like years,
Endless sorrow and lasting fears,
So many eyes dripping with tears!

 Life Giving Soul

For anyone who is carrying a heavy cross, this is for you. Anthony

You can take away my smile,
And replace it with a frown,
You can take away my energy,
And make me feel worn down,
There are so many things you can do,
Once you take control of me,
But the thing that you can't touch,
Is the thing that you can't see,
You'll never take away,
What lives inside of me,
You can bring me much discomfort,
And cause me endless pain,
You can take away my serenity,
Confuse my mind from being sane,
There are so many things you can do,
Once you take this part of me,
But the thing that you can't touch,
Is the thing that sets me free,
The life giving soul inside of me,
You'll never take away,
The most precious thing to me,
Never will you touch,
This love that sets me free,
There so many things you can do,
But there all in vain,
Never will you touch,
The love that sets me free,
The life giving soul,
My God has given me.

 The Foot Of The Mountain

At the foot of the mountain,
About to start the climb,
At first glance it seems,
To be one of my dreams,
There's no way for me,
Not from what I can see,
I should forget about it all,
Impossible for me, it's to tall,
One step, and I'm on my way,
If I need help I'll just pray,
After walking for some time,
I say, I can make this climb,
Once it seemed an unlikely feat,
Now is something I can beat,
As I lift my head, I now see,
This little hill in front of me,
What started as just a prayer,
Is now much easier to bare,
Step by step, stride by stride,
My Angel friend by my side,
Just a little bit longer to go,
The mountain top is all aglow,
Reaching the top I can see,
An incredible sight before me,
A vastness of beauty,
With a large golden fountain,
The reward for a lifetime climb,
Up from The Foot Of The Mountain.

 The Truth

The time is now to decide, whatever will be, will be,
No more lies, distortions, or hypocrisy,
Time to wake up, look inside, and face reality,
A soul will only find true peace, when the heart is truly free,
Time to release what dwells within, that others cannot see,
To let go of all the burdens, and weighing memories,
Move in the right direction, set the record straight,
Put aside the anger, let go of all the hate,
The time is now to take a stand, whatever will be, will be,
Make a choice, face the truth, the truth will set you free,
Truth is the power that frees us from within,
Truth enlightens us to where our life has been,
Truth has always been there, truth will always be,
Truth is the fullness of Glory and Divinity,
The time is now, take the key, whatever will be, will be,
A moment to insert the truth deep inside of thee,
Turn your life around, unlock the treasure chest,
Reach within your being, and be your very best,
Remember placed inside of you is a sacred unity,
The Truth that lives inside of you, Is He that has set you free.

 A Soldier's Prayer

Today we remember you with a special prayer,
For your honor, strength, courage, and bravery,
You have paid the price for the freedom we share,
Into harms way you journey for peace and unity,
Crossing oceans when mankind needs a special friend,
Never questioning why, or the language they may speak,
Enduring whatever it takes to bring conflict to an end,
Extending a helping hand to the innocent is what you seek,
You are the heart and soul of a great-full nation,
Your character makes one's chest swell with pride,
A grace given to a special few on a mission,
Soldiers who have answered the call they feel deep inside,
We pray for your safe return home to your family and friends,
A safe, thankful nation, sends its love to the guardians of our land,
Until at last, sacrifices made will bring all wars to an end,
Peace will endure because you are the tools in God's hands,
May the love, joy, and peace of God, shine down upon you,
Strengthen, protect, and bless you and your families, Amen.
